1st CPP Workshop - Copenhagen 1996
This launch meeting was held in Copenhagen on May 21-22, 1996 and was dedicated to planning the concertation efforts within the 3 years scope of the Changing Professional Practice project.
The CPP partners provided an overview of their projects with regards to target population, design and time schedule. Criteria for including new partners in the Concerted Action were agreed upon.
With the aim of building up a "core of shared understanding", as stated in the Technical Annex of the Concerted Action, four working groups were established:
The "Scientific Framework and Taxonomy Group" whose tasks are to produce a revised framework for the Concerted Action, a taxonomy, a tool for mapping partner projects, a description of the common data-set, and educational material
The "Statistics Group" whose aims are to assure the quality of the statistical methods applied in the Concerted Action, to help partners estimate their study sample size, and to produce educational material.
The "Economics Group" whose aims are to analyse and recommend methods for carrying out economic evaluation of implementation projects and produce educational material.
The "PR Group" who will set up a policy for authorship, publications and support the development of sufficient means of communication.

2nd CPP Workshop, Aberdeen 1997
During this workshop, the Spanish project, CAMBIE was included in CPP, which now encompasses 10 projects and partners from 7 European countries. A new working group was established: the "Intervention Group" aiming at studying the "black box of the intervention" and providing educational material for CPP partners.
The Network Resource had modified its objectives and tasks slightly, now placing the focus on "facilitators and barriers" for changing the behaviour of health care professionals. The originally intended comparative analysis of partner projects will be secondary in importance.
During the Aberdeen meeting, a joint workshop was held with participants from CPP and the African sister project, AFROIMPLEMENT. This meeting, which had more than 50 participants, worked as a forum for exchange of experiences between African and European researchers.
On the more social side, Africans and Europeans celebrated the Scottish national poet at the annual Scottish Robert Burns Supper.
